Eagle and the Andean Condor have the longest life spans amongst all contemporary bird species on Earth. Eagle (we must take one of them) can live up to 70 years. However, in order to achieve such a long life, he (let’s assume that our eagle is a male) must make some very difficult and challenging decisions. When he reaches the age of 40, his long and elastic clasps are no longer effective when hunting, grabbing and holding onto his prey. His powerful and deadly beak has grown so much that it now tapers downwards and prevents him to feed correctly. His old and heavy wings are full of tightly knit feathers of which most no longer serve their purpose, thus preventing him to fly higher and faster and due to their enlarged sizes, they don’t fold back correctly and are causing him unnecessary discomfort when resting.
